# ChatGPT Chat

> Connect Glasser as a plugin and use paid data in your chats.

The screenshots below show Chat mode in the ChatGPT desktop app. For the web, use the
instructions below. Select a screenshot to enlarge it.
Your account and workspace must allow custom MCP servers.

  1. Open [Plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins), select **+ → Add custom MCP server**,
     and name it `glasser`. Enter `https://api.glasser.ai/mcp` as the **Server URL** and
     select **OAuth**. Review the connection notice, select **I understand and want to
     continue**, then select **Create as a plugin**.
  2. Open Glasser in [Personal plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins?view=personal) and
     select **+** to install it. Complete the sign-in prompts: sign in to Glasser,
     choose your Workspace, and select **Allow**.
  3. Start a new **Chat** conversation. Type `@`, select **glasser**, and send the free
     balance prompt in **Check the connection** below.

  <Step title="Add Glasser">
    In the ChatGPT desktop app, open **Plugins** in the left sidebar, then select
    **Add → Create MCP App**.

    Set **Name** to `glasser`. Under **Connection**, select **Server URL** and enter:

    Set **Authentication** to **OAuth**. Review the connection notice, select
    **I understand and want to continue**, then select **Create**.
    The description is optional.

  <Step title="Connect your Glasser Workspace">
    Select **Continue to glasser**. Sign in, choose your Glasser Workspace, and select
    **Allow**. Create an account and Workspace if needed. You do not need to paste a Glasser Key.

  <Step title="Check the connection">
    Return to ChatGPT. Under **Installed**, open the **…** menu beside `glasser` and
    select **Try now**. Select **Chat** mode and check that `glasser` is selected in the
    composer. If it is missing, type `@` and select **glasser**.

    Send this free balance check:

    Use Glasser to check my available balance. Do not make any paid Runs.

    ChatGPT should use Glasser's `balance` tool and return your balance. This check is free;
    a zero balance still confirms that the connection works. Add funds in the
    [Glasser console](https://app.glasser.ai) before a paid Run.

## Try your first request

Use Glasser to find recent news about Stripe. Show me the data you can retrieve and the price, then wait for my approval before any paid Run.
```

After you approve, the agent can retrieve the data and report the result and charge.

## If custom MCP servers are unavailable

The option depends on your account and workspace settings. On a managed workspace, ask your
administrator whether custom MCP servers are enabled.
