# ChatGPT Chat

> Start with the Glasser Skill, then connect Glasser to your chats.

In Chat mode, the Glasser Skill guides you to connect Glasser as an MCP plugin.
The steps below show how to connect it in the ChatGPT desktop app. Select a screenshot to enlarge it.

  <Step title="Ask ChatGPT to set up Glasser">
    Open a chat and paste:

    ```text wrap theme={null}
    set up https://glasser.ai/SKILL.md
    ```

    ChatGPT reads the Skill and guides you through connecting Glasser. You do not need to
    install the Glasser CLI. If Glasser is already connected, go to the balance check below.

  <Step title="Add Glasser">
    In the ChatGPT desktop app, open **Plugins** in the left sidebar, then select
    **Add → Create MCP App**.

    Set **Name** to `glasser`. Under **Connection**, select **Server URL** and enter:

    ```text theme={null}
    https://api.glasser.ai/mcp
    ```

    Set **Authentication** to **OAuth**. Review the connection notice, select
    **I understand and want to continue**, then select **Create**.
    The description is optional.

  <Step title="Connect your Glasser Workspace">
    Select **Continue to glasser**. Sign in, choose your Glasser Workspace, and select
    **Allow**. Create an account and Workspace if needed. You do not need to paste a Glasser Key.

  <Step title="Check the connection">
    Return to ChatGPT. Under **Installed**, open the **…** menu beside `glasser` and
    select **Try now**. Select **Chat** mode and check that `glasser` is selected in the
    composer. If it is missing, type `@` and select **glasser**.

    Send this free balance check:

    Use Glasser to check my available balance. Do not make any paid Runs.
    ```

    ChatGPT should use Glasser's `balance` tool and return your balance. This check is free;
    a zero balance still confirms that the connection works. Add funds in the
    [Glasser console](https://app.glasser.ai) before a paid Run.

If **Create MCP App** is unavailable, check whether your account and workspace allow
custom MCP servers. On a managed workspace, ask your administrator.

## Try your first request

Use Glasser to find recent news about Stripe. Show me the data you can retrieve and the price, then wait for my approval before any paid Run.
```

After you approve, ChatGPT can retrieve the data and report the result and charge.
