Get the full original content of one EDGAR filing document, the main document or a single exhibit, by its sec.gov URL (www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/...). Supply url; only text files ending in .htm, .html, .xml or .txt are served, not PDFs or images, and not the complete submission bundle <accession>.txt. Returns the document as filed, markup included. For one item section of a 10-K, 10-Q or 8-K as plain text, use the section endpoint. A missing file returns an error.
Get the XBRL financial data of one EDGAR filing, such as a 10-K or 10-Q, converted to JSON: income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement and stockholders' equity, each line item with its period and unit. Supply exactly one of accessionNo (like 0000320193-23-000106), htmUrl (the sec.gov URL of the filing document) or xbrlUrl (the URL of its XBRL instance file). A filing without XBRL attached returns no statements and is not charged.
Get the plain text of one item section from a single 10-K, 10-Q or 8-K filing whose sec.gov document URL you already have. Supply url (the www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data path of the main document) and item: 10-K items like 1A (risk factors) or 7 (management's discussion and analysis), 10-Q items like part2item1a, 8-K items like 2-2. The item must belong to the form of that URL. Returns only that section's text, no HTML and no other sections; it does not search across filings.
List every company on one exchange, in one sector or in one industry: pass exactly one of exchange, sector or industry. Each company returns its name, ticker, CIK, CUSIP, exchange, industry and whether it is delisted. The whole list comes back in one response with no paging, and one exchange can return thousands of companies. To look up a single company by ticker, CIK, CUSIP or name, use the identifier lookup instead. An unknown value returns no companies.
Get every filing that EDGAR accepted on one date: supply date as YYYY-MM-DD. Each filing row returns the accession number, form type, company name, CIK and time; a weekday lists a few thousand filings. Weekends and future dates return no filings, and only dates from December 2025 onward are available. It takes no ticker, form or company filter; the filing search endpoint does that.
Look up a listed company by one identifier and get the others: pass exactly one of ticker, cik, cusip or name. Each matching company returns its name, ticker, CIK, CUSIP, exchange, industry, SIC code and whether it is delisted. Use it to convert a ticker to a CIK, a CIK or CUSIP to a ticker, or a company name to its ticker and CIK. One identifier per call; an unknown value returns no companies.
Search the cover pages of Form 13F filings with a Lucene-style query over named fields such as cik (the manager's CIK) and filedAt (for example filedAt:[2025-01-01 TO 2025-03-31]). Each cover page returns the filing manager, the report period, the number of holdings, the total portfolio value and any other included managers. It does not list positions; the 13F holdings endpoint returns each CUSIP, share count and value. Up to 50 cover pages per page (default 10) with a from offset, sorted by filedAt.
Search Form 13F filings of institutional investment managers and funds with a Lucene-style query over named fields such as cik (the manager's CIK), periodOfReport and filedAt (for example cik:1067983). Each row is one 13F filing with every holding the fund reported: CUSIP, number of shares and market value per position. Rows can be large, so the default page is 10 filings; up to 50 per page with a from offset, sorted by filedAt.
Search structured 8-K event data with a Lucene-style query over named fields such as item4_01 (change of auditor), item4_02 (non-reliance on prior financial statements, i.e. a restatement), item5_02 (director or officer departure or appointment) and filedAt; item4_02:* matches every 8-K that reports that item. Each filing returns the company and the structured details of its event. Up to 50 filings per page (default 10) with a from offset, sorted by filedAt.
